Sr. Analytics Engineer

Profile

We’re looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer to join our Analytics & Data Systems Engineering team. This high-visibility role actively partners with engineers, business stakeholders, data subject matter experts and analysts to deliver well-defined, transformed, tested, and code-reviewed data sets to the organization.
As a prominent member of this team, your combined experience in stakeholder engagement and building solid, scalable data models for complex dataflows will enable business teams to succeed in implementing new and interesting opportunities while getting the most out of existing products and services.
Responsibilities:
Design, build, publish, and maintain performant and reliable data models that support flexible querying and data visualization
Drive data quality by transforming dynamic data and business logic into consistent and trustworthy datasets
Collaborate with development teams, peer solution engineers, and architects to ensure solution alignment with technical architecture, business plans, and long-term strategy
Actively participate in team design sessions, code review, and combined deployment efforts
Create and publish logical technical architecture diagrams documenting the reusable solutions for integration of applications and data warehouse
Participate in data architecture procedures and policy management
Mentor and contribute to data management and data architecture standards and best practices

Skills & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar with 10 years related experience
Strong leadership, communication, collaboration skills with a track record of taking solution ownership
Extensive experience in schema design and data modeling strategies (e.g. dimensional modeling, unstructured data, and third normal form, etc.)
5 years’ experience working with data modeling tools such as Erwin or DBSchema
8 years of work querying, visualizing, and presenting data
Prior experience at a modern technology company with a well-developed data organization
Hands-on work experience with cloud-based Data Warehouse and Data Lake environments (Snowflake)
Experienced at solving ambiguous problems independently
Detail oriented and excited to learn new skills and tools
Skilled at writing clear, concise documentation, and to communicate generally with a high degree of precision
Passion for high data quality and building systems and processes that scale
Must be able to work independently and collaboratively on large scale data projects
Nice to Have
Hands-on Snowflake development experience
Experience with data warehouse automation tools (e.g. DBT)
Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or JavaScript
Knowledge of cloud architecture (Azure or AWS)
