Linux Administrator - LOCALS ONLY

Profile

We currently have an immediate requirement for a Linux Administrator
in Emeryville, CA
. This is a 6-12 month CONTRACT
position.
Responsibilities include:
* Bachelor*s degree in a scientific discipline, computer science, engineering or mathematics; or four years related experience
* 5 years of experience in Linux and/or Unix Systems Administration in an enterprise scale production environment
* At least 5 years of experience in IT support, database support or programming, IT Operations, or application support or development
Skills required include:
* Linux/UNIX installation, configuration, upgrades, performance tuning, capacity planning, backups and recoveries
* Strong understanding and experience in Linux RHEL in a global enterprise environment
* In depth knowledge of configuration management tools such as Chef, Puppet
* Able to work on daily tickets as well as ongoing projects
* Experience with Virtualization layer environment (VMware, HyperV *)
* Build and support both Physical and VMware Virtual systems
* Writing shell scripts and kickstart scripts for automated builds
* Experience supporting Oracle RAC server infrastructure
* Experience with NIS / Centrify for user account management
* Experience with installing, troubleshooting, doing firmware upgrades (HP, DELL chassis/standalone HW)
* Experience with system patching / RPM repository (RH Satellite)
* Experience with Splunk ( monitoring and analyzing systems data )
* Experience with monitoring systems (Nagios / SAAS solution)
