Job Description
Working within an agile/scrum, cross-functional team environment, the Senior Front end Developer is a passionate developer, and problem-solver.
Responsibilities
Works with Lead Developer to ensure overall quality is high, product and system is healthy.
Works in a cross-functional environment (i.e. Product Owner, Scrum Master, UX Designers, and Architecture).
Perform delivery tasks (e.g. coding, unit-testing, design/code reviews) within a time-boxed sprint.
Works across teams to ensure technical dependencies are met, communicates issues/blockers, and comes to the table with solutions.
Collaborates with CoPs (Community of Practice) and team to adhere to best practices, development standards, and strives to “leave the code in better shape than you found it”.
May help vet incoming talent and/or coach other developers.
Perform discovery tasks (e.g. planning, sizing, POCs) as needed to ensure success of delivery team.
Required Experience
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems (related/commensurate experience acceptable).
At least 3-5 years’ experience as a web developer in an online environment or software venue.
Intermediate/Expert knowledge of JavaScript.
Intermediate/Expert knowledge of jQuery.
Solid knowledge of HTML/CSS.
Understands Object Oriented Design and Java Bean principles.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and able to adjust message for technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of JSP / Servlets is a plus.
Agile/Lean/Scrum (i.e. Iterative) experience is a plus.
Experience integrating with RESTful APIs.
Experience with MV* JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Backbone, Node, CanJS).
Past experience and/or advocate for front-end best practices (e.g. JS unit-testing and continuous deployment).
