Test Engineer','2100095P','!*!The Test Engineer is passionate about ensuring the quality of the systems they support. He/She is responsible for designing and executing exploratory test charters and developing & maintaining automated test suites/methods. He/She will understand, analyze and incorporate VALET metrics in their testing and will collaborate with the Dev and Ops teams to demonstrate writing valuable integration, functional and End to End tests.

The Test Engineer must be a strong advocate for user experience and is expected to have strong relationships with the product team members they are supporting. They will participate in stakeholder, teammate and customer interviews.

The Software Test Engineer will pair with the Software Engineers periodically in order to gain an understanding of the inner workings of the software code that is being delivered and will take directions from the Principle and/or Senior Test Engineers to prioritize workload and apply best practices. He/She will track and report software errors, risks, and progress as well as capture logs and analytics. They are also expected to be fast learners and SMEs for the systems/areas they own and to identify the core end to end flows of their systems.

Responsibilities:


Develop, maintain and execute test charters and automated tests for integration, functional and end to end tests and other test artifacts including but not limited to test data, defect reports, analytics dashboards
Collaborate with Software Engineers to gain an understanding of the software code being delivered by participating in paired programming sessions, design reviews and stakeholder interviews
Track and report progress of test efforts, defect status and risks to the product team as required by management
Review tests for gaps, weaknesses and risks, and plan test design and execution accordingly

Bachelors in Computer Science or MIS, and/or related industry experience
One to three years of experience in Test Engineering experience is required.  Retail application experience is preferred.
CSQA/CSQTE, or ISTQB or equivalent certification is a plus
Experience in software Testing, including integration, functional and end to end testing
Familiarity with Microsoft Test Manager, Enterprise Tester or equivalent test management tools as well as TFS, JIRA or equivalent defect tracking tools
Experience with test automation tools, programming languages, and test frameworks (JUnit, NUnit, Jasmine, ..etc)
Knowledge of one or more Programming language (Java, .net, C , Python, JavaScript, Angular, React, or any other language)
Familiar with Object Oriented Programming concepts, Test Driven Development, Behavioral Driven Development and CI/CD fundamentals
Experience with SQL and relational databases, as well as APIs and API test tools (Postman, SoapUI, ..etc), cross browsers tools (Sauselabs, ..etc), IDEs (Eclipse, IntelliJ)
Ability to facilitate the testing of multiple fast moving projects simultaneously
Ability to jump into a new application and quickly learn how it functions and train others on the topic
Must have very good analytical skills to proactively mitigate risks before they materialize into problems
Willing to take direction from Seniors, Principles and Managers
Remain calm under stress and show a can do spirit at all times
Confident in identifying tests that are good candidates for automation and converting them into automated tests
Ability to assist with removing obstacles and keeping multiple testing efforts moving in parallel.
Established subject matter expert in their systems/areas, able to clearly communicate knowledge to others.
Comfortable with reviewing system designs and planning testing
Comfortable with pairing with software engineers to gain a high-level understanding of the software that is being developed
