Mobility Specialist - Employee Sponsorship
Duties: Responsible for working directly with HR, managers, employees, Legal and outside counsel to facilitate new and existing employee sponsorship needs. Consult with all parties to gain approval for sponsorship, craft an efficient, low risk and fiscally responsible sponsorship strategy based on inputs from Legal, outside counsel and HR, and execute the plan to ensure both Pearson and the employee are properly represented and necessary visas are secured. Serve as point of contact and advisor to HR, employees and managers regarding sponsorship requests and needs for new hires and existing employees. Consults with Pearson Legal and outside counsel throughout the sponsorship process. Facilitates both non-immigrant and immigrant visa cases with guidance from Pearson Legal and outside counsel which are low risk and have the highest probability of success while ensuring remains fiscally responsible. Partners with key stakeholders to ensure sponsorship strategies factor in multiple variables such as business alignment, talent strategy, costs. Maintains financial records in Serengeti. Working with Pearson Legal and outside counsel, tracks individual cases to ensure timely filing. Working with Pearson Legal and outside counsel, facilitates all steps in both non-immigrant and immigrant visa petitions. Ex. H1B cap and renewals, PERM petitions. Works with recruiters and local generalists as needed to gather case related information and documentation. Keeps key stakeholders up to date throughout the process. Will partner with a variety of stakeholders to formalise sponsorship guidelines and/or a US wide immigration policy, designed to meet business needs, whilst ensuring Pearson compliance. Provides support to the broader Global Mobility on special projects or based on demand.
