We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic
Government Senior Accountant
who is a strong communicator, to work for our government segment under the direction of our Principal, Director of Government Services. This is an outstanding opportunity to grow and support The Rea Advantage, our strategic plan.
This Government Senior Accountant
has the exciting opportunity to succeed and support the firm’s cornerstones, Our People, Our Clients, Our Growth, and Our Firm
while exhibiting the following:
Reviews and interprets overall financial results and communicates these results to the Principal and the client.
Communicates to the engagement team and client the potential impact of new accounting pronouncements, and uses this knowledge to identify additional client service opportunities.
Demonstrates expertise in applying appropriate auditing and accounting procedures and professional standards and helps the engagement team to develop these important skills.
Exhibits advanced skills in client research, documentation, and overall quality assurance.
Applies in-depth knowledge of the client’s industry to advise each client on business process improvements.
Ensures the overall quality of engagement team work products for Principal review.
Effectively reviews engagement team deliverables to ensure completeness and accuracy and helps the team to develop self-review skills.
Monitors staff progress at appropriate intervals during engagements to ensure profitable and timely completion of work.
Qualifications
Qualifications and Requirements:
Not for Profit Auditing and Federal Single Auditing experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related degree; eligible for CPA exam is required
Excellent communication (verbal and written), organization, and analytical skills
Ability to work independently on tasks and projects, while also collaborating with peers in a team-oriented environment
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications with advanced skills in Word and Excel
Project Management skills including leadership, time management, negotiating, team management, and critical thinking
