POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for learning how to maintain sharp tools to perform their job task correctly. Responsible for making precision cuts to carcass that allows for correct further processing to achieve desired carcass yield. Responsible for making precision cuts to carcass to remove hide only to achieve desired carcass yield. Responsible for operating a powered tool to perform job task. Average training time may require 2-3 months.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for assisting the department supervisor in all daily function of sanitation, while also adhering to good safety practices, food safety policies, and company policies. Essential responsibilities will include:
Assisting the department supervisor in all daily function of sanitation.
Must be able to perform all positions of the sanitation department.
Oversee and help meet sanitation standards in supervisor absence.
Assist and learn necessary sanitation reporting procedures.
Responsible for addressing associate concerns and assisting supervisor with problem solving.
Must be able to work closely with Quality Assurance and USDA
Make job assignments accordance with production requirements.
Assist supervisor in the training and development of new and existing associates.
Conducts safety, housekeeping, and quality audits.
Inspects products for conformance; directs set up and adjustment of equipment.
Complete production related reports.
Troubleshoot and assist in the diagnoses of equipment issues.
Monitor work/break relief schedules.
May occasionally relieve workers when necessary.
Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
Assists in huddle meetings.
Provides input regarding associate job performance, work, and safety rule adherence.
Assist with breakdown of all equipment in department.
Monitor set up of all CIP pipes.
Aid in set up/troubleshooting.
Running six separate CIP Circuits.
Set up pipes at control panel.
Install chart in recorder for graph of each run.
Take bioluminescence swabs of each circuit run.
Check swabs using Charm unit.
Record results on CIP paperwork.
Turn in completed paperwork to supervisor office and set controls back to production run at conclusion of passing results of all circuits ran.
Chemical management within area is required by operator/lead person.
Keeping area clean and free of debris and trash is required along with management of CIP room and sanitation tool cage following 5S Guidelines
Perform scheduled auto task of visual verification that all valves are functioning properly.
If needed, replace, repair, or communicate needed issues with all equipment associated with CIP.
Flexibility of job is required due to numerous variables that occur with CIP performance.
May be required to assist in cleaning of areas within KP department, setting up equipment, or other forms of the sanitation job function.
REQUIREMENTS:
Work schedule will vary depending on production Perform various other tasks as assigned by Lead person, Supervisor or Superintendent.
Must be able to work in temperatures less than or equal to 35 degrees Fahrenheit temperature for minimum of 8 hours.
Ability to become certified in Tyson’s Lock Out/Tag Out program.
Must be willing to pinch/grip product/equipment.
Familiar with safe operation and use of high-pressure hoses and sanitation chemicals.
Must be able to perform the following task for periods of 8 hours on concrete floor, some of which may include but is not limited to bending, twisting, reaching, standing, stooping, walking, climbing, and lifting.
May occasionally be required to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
All employees are responsible for upholding the principals of SQF 2000.
Internal: Must not have more than 5 attendance occurrences. Must not have a disciplinary suspension on file in the past 6 months. Must be in your current position for a minimum of six (6) months unless this job is a higher class than you currently hold.
External: Must have at least 3 months previous work experience with a single employer within the last 18 months.
Internal/External:
If the TM awarded this position reaches 5 attendance occurrences while holding this position, they will be automatically disqualified from their position and will be moved to labor pool within the department. They will then have 60 days in which to bid out of Labor Pool.
