The Finance Manager, Specialty will provide financial support for the entire US Specialty organization through the consolidation of five business units within Specialty.   In addition, this individual will provide controllership support for the VP Specialty budget.   The individual will help prepare and present key financial planning and reporting documents to the US Specialty VP, US Specialty Controller and Director, Strategic Planning and Communication.   The individual will also collaborate closely with Division, Global and Corporate Finance Management.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: 

• Lead the financial consolidation process for all of US Specialty organization for LBEs, LRPs, Plan and Actuals across all five business units which includes annual revenues of nearly $7B.  Ensure clear communication and coordination across Finance and Commercial teams in support of these processes
• Ensure financial planning deliverables are accurate, clear and concise for Executive level review and approval
• Individual is expected to successfully perform all responsibilities with a high degree of self-motivation and autonomy
• Manage monthly flash/close activities including balance sheet reconciliations, headcount reporting, variance analysis, and monthly reporting to brand.  Participate in monthly close meeting with US Commercial senior management
• Prepare ad-hoc analysis and participate on project teams as required.  Interact with all levels of management to communicate financial implications and provide guidance

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION:   

• BS/BA in Accounting, Finance or Marketing.  Master’s/MBA is preferred

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

• A minimum of 6 to 8 years combined experience in cost accounting, auditing, financial reporting, or financial planning and analysis is required.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and previous experience with TM1 and BPC is preferred.
• The candidate must have strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills, along with strong communication skills to effectively work with various levels of management. 
• Deadlines are often tight, therefore the ability to prioritize and quickly understand issues/assess data integrity is critical.   
• Demonstrated problem solving and analysis within a broad framework of AbbVie’s financial policies (CFMs), and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
