Northrop Grumman Information Systems in Reston, VA has a requirement for a Windows Cyber Engineer to provide expertise regarding enterprise-wide conversion to Windows 7 as part of the engineering team determining the critical design, implementing the solution, supporting verification as well as deployment, and providing O&M for the Sponsor's Windows infrastructure upgrade to Windows 7, SCCM, Active Directory 2008, and migration from Lotus Notes to Microsoft Exchange. The candidate will assist the Sponsor in formulating requirements, technical approach, design validation, and technical feasibility studies. This will include technical analysis of implementation approaches in accordance with specific customer specifications and implementations. The successful candidate will function as a technical expert, representing the project/program from the customer's perspective. In the execution of his/her duties, the candidate must be able to develop engineering options, clearly explain tradeoffs, and be comfortable presenting the best recommendations that will achieve the Sponsor's technical objectives. The candidate must be able to work well with a multi-discipline senior engineering. Additional duties include documenting system designs in the System Design Document (SDD), interface control documents (ICDs), presentation materials, and other system description documents. The candidate will also need to be flexible in order to help the Sponsor with ad hoc engineering problems and tasking that may occur as part of the IT infrastructure's upgrade. The Windows Engineer will be looked upon by the Sponsor as one of the principal technical subject matter experts providing technical/managerial recommendations. The successful candidate must be able to professionally brief a mid to senior level customer audience. The candidate will also provides moderate assistance to project management on task direction.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelors degree with 9 years of experience in Windows engineering with an emphasis in Windows 7 including prior experience related to enterprise-wide Windows 7 conversion as well as Windows COTS configuration, integration, test and deployment. Four additional years of experience may substitute in lieu of degree.
* Must have an active and current TS/SCI security clearance with a polygraph.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Prior familiarity with the customer's Project Management Framework (PMF). This position is contingent upon contract award, budget, and/ or customer approval.
