Profile
Program Director - Part-time
The candidate will be responsible for the development of training programs and mentoring relationships for the lawyers who are part of the University. Will be a program designed to support recent graduates whose ambitions are to create sustainable solo or small firm practices that will bring affordable and quality legal services to the underserved communities of the region. Should have passed the PA Bar Exam and are licensed to practice. Will provide these lawyers with furnished office space, essential office equipment and technology, and conference rooms. Also, provide training programs in both the relevant substantive law areas and, as importantly, in law office management and client development, i.e., the “business of law.” Assist the lawyers in developing innovative ways to deliver quality legal services to clients whose financial means are insufficient to afford the services of the conventional law firms. Participate in the building of relationships between the university and other relevant community constituencies, e.g., the Allegheny County Bar Association, the Law School alumni, the judiciary and others. Should be prepared to present a more particular vision of the possible direction of the new Pitt Law Incubator.
