Assistant or Associate Professor (Clinical)/Careerline Faculty
Duties: Will work on a a part-time basis as a clinical faculty member and attorney supervising the Low Income Taxpayer’s Clinic. Will work closely with the Clinical Program Director to develop and implement this Clinic. Will be responsible for supervising all legal work performed by clinical law students handling federal income tax disputes and for organizing and overseeing outreach and educational activities by clinic students and volunteers, especially to the ESL community. Will also design and teach a class in Tax Law Practice for clinic students in order to prepare them for the cases. Will handle and to provide a forum for reflecting about cases. Design and implement a Low Income Taxpayer Clinic, staffed by clinical law students. Manage operation of Clinic and oversee all legal work of Clinic. Design and oversee outreach and educational activities to be conducted by clinical law students and volunteers. Teach a Tax Law Practice class to clinical law students to prepare them for Tax Clinic work. Meet regularly with Clinical Program Director to define and refine operation of Clinic. Maintain records as required by IRS, grantor agency. Prepare reports. Solicit volunteers as needed. Assist in fundraising efforts as needed.
