Anesthesia Technician

Eastside Medical Center is currently looking for a Anesthesia Technician
 
SHIFT: PRN / Per Diem
 
Position Responsibilities:
·         Maintains responsibility for care and maintenance of anesthesia supplies and equipment in surgery/procedural areas.
·         Assists anesthesia providers with the delivery of anesthesia care as necessary.
 
Department Specific Criteria:
·         Performs duties in accordance with unit specific standards of care as evidenced by completion of a competency skills checklist.
·         Performs regular cleaning of all anesthesia equipment, including anesthesia machines, non-disposable equipment/supplies and monitors.
·         Performs routine simple maintenance of anesthesia equipment.
·         Stocks machines and carts with appropriate disposable items on a daily basis.
·         Stocks OR rooms with I.V. equipment, spinal and epidural trays.
·         Maintains anesthesia storage and supply areas in a clean and orderly fashion that promotes ease of access by all staff.
·         Orders anesthesia equipment and disposable supplies according to established par levels.
·         Assists with turnover of anesthesia supplies and equipment in between cases as needed.
·         Assists the anesthesiologist with certain aspects of patient care as needed.
·         Obtains and changes medical gas tanks as needed.','!*!Qualifications:

Georgia Nurse’s Aide Certification - preferred OR

Student Nurse  who is currently enrolled in Nursing School and has completed Nursing Fundamentals AND Anatomy and Physiology I & II - preferred
·         Applicable experience – preferred
·         BLS – American Heart Association - required
