Job Details:
This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
This position is responsible for assisting the Supervisor in coordination of the daily responsibilities of the department by insuring the Supervisor’s instructions are communicated to the team members and carried out timely and correctly. This position is also responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
Department:
Must be able to perform all jobs in the department. Lead team members while supervisor is away from the floor. This position fills in as necessary to cover absenteeism, breaks, and emergencies. Must be capable to read and write in order to complete necessary paperwork and enter information into SAP System. Must be able to communicate effectively with others. This position is responsible for maintaining all machines throughout the plant. The work descriptions include DSI, lug wash, blade, wing/CVP, floaters, battery/pallet jack and boiler room. This position requires the team member to move around their work area to locations that are in need of their assistance. This position must also conduct preventative maintenance and conduct safety checks throughout their area. This position requires the team member to move to different areas of the plant, dealing with different temperatures and environment in accordance to where they are needed.
Position Specific:
Applicants will be considered for any industrial maintenance opening on any shift available. Applicant, if offered a position, will be required to work weekends to perform preventative maintenance on equipment. Only applicants from the following counties will be considered for hire: Leake, Scott, Attala, Holmes, Madison, Noxubee, Neshoba, and Winston. Must have one year of Industrial Maintenance experience. The applicant must be 18 years old or older. Applicants, if offered a position, must be able to successfully pass a drug screen and complete a health assessment. Applicants previously employed by a Tyson facility no more than 2 times with 6 months of experience in Maintenance while working at Tyson will be considered for rehire 1 time as a Maintenance Technician. A former Team Member must wait 3 months before being considered for employment in Maintenance. A former Team Member who left Tyson’s employment for gross misconduct or rules of conduct will not be considered for rehire.
Must have a minimum of (1) year of industrial maintenance experience in the work history section of the application or a graduate of an industrial maintenance training program. (Can be a combination of employers as long as experience is at least 1 year.)
