IBM Interactive Digital Media Engineer

Profile

In IBM Interactive the Digital Media Engineer will participate in the design and development of highly interactive web sites for high profile clients. This position requires a well-rounded technical resource with strong skills in video production and online distribution for both live and on-demand video. This position requires Content Delivery Network experience, Cloud experience, video production and encoding experience and Linux system administration experience.
In addition, candidates would have experience and skills in most, if not all, of the following core areas:
- Technical software and hardware system architecture.
- Cloud computing
- Linux system administration
- PC and server hardware skills
- Video production experience
- Video encoding and streaming including HDS and HLS
- Flash Media Server
- CDN network integration experience (eg. Akamai Media delivery, Akamai configuration and Akamai NetStorage)
- Able to use Photoshop would be beneficial along with a general understanding of the Adobe product suite.
- International logistics
When working with other key stakeholders, the candidate should be able to articulate deeply technical concepts in a customer friendly and understandable way. This would involve being able to assist with project managers, designers and information architects in scoping and pricing front end applications as well as working with a team of developers during the build, test and deployment phases.
Finally we are looking for candidates with aspirations towards making the jump to technical consulting.

- The candidate should have experience working with a variety of clients at all levels of an organization as well as a level of comfort presenting their work in workshops and client meetings.
- Has developed relationships of mutual trust with people inside and outside of their organization based on respect, integrity, positive regard and an appreciation of the uniqueness of the individual.
Required
* Bachelor's Degree
* At least 3 years experience in Video production experience
* At least 3 years experience in CDN and online media distribution experience
* At least 2 years experience in video editing suites such as Final Cut Pro or Premiere
* At least 3 years experience in experience with live and on-demand streaming video
* Readiness to travel Up to 4 days a week (home on weekends-based on project requirements)
* English: Fluent
Preferred
* Master's Degree
* At least 5 years experience in Video production experience
* At least 5 years experience in CDN and online media distribution experience
* At least 5 years experience in video editing suites such as Final Cut Pro or Premiere
* At least 2 years experience in online video players using Flash and HTML5
* At least 3 years experience in internet industry
* At least 2 years experience in sports industry (especially golf and tennis)
* French : Basic knowledge
