Staff Director
The candidate will design, plan and execute regular programming and events, including academic conferences, speaker series, and other non- or co-curricular events, to strengthen the connectivity and learning among our students, alumni, faculty and leaders in the broader business community in Northern California and beyond; Work with the Faculty, Development Office and Chancellor and Dean to identify opportunities to engage alumni and the business community, which will mean both building new relationships and strengthening existing ones, learning from best practices at other institutions and formulating a strategy tailored for Hastings’ unique market position and opportunities; Connect the new “Academic Village” at College with the surrounding Bay Area business community and legal industry through regular programming; Help identify areas where business law focused students and alums need support and design Center programs and services to help fill those gaps, with a particular eye to providing lifelong learning opportunities for different alumni cohorts that have different needs and interests across occupation and career lifecycle; Build systems and processes to provide friends and alumni with the opportunity to engage at different levels with the College, including working to identify opportunities for our students and alumni to advance their careers in business; Build programming in continuing legal education and executive education; Oversee, monitor and report on financial matters and budget issues; Work evenings and weekends upon occasion for programs; Draft reports, letters and memoranda related to program activities; and Maintain social media presence and promote CBL through different media channels.
