The eHow international sites ( ****, ****, ****, ****, ****) serve hundreds of millions of pageviews per month. We move fast and make the most of a powerful custom CMS and templating system to maintain and improve these sites with a very lean team. We are looking for a rock-solid developer to focus on front-end development: HTML, Jinja2 templates, CSS, and Javascript.
Responsibilities:
* Create interactive web experiences for mobile, tablet, and desktop browsers
* Overhaul & refactor code for optimal performance and pagespeed
* Work closely with product owners and designers to implement new features and look & feel enhancements
* Work closely with the back-end Python development team to optimize the cacheability of all site elements
* Mentor the rest of the team in best practices and techniques for front-end design and development
* Continuous review and evaluation of open-source and third-party tools to improve development efficiency and end-user experience
Requirements:
* A strong understanding of front-end web technologies including JavaScript, HTML, CSS and AJAX
* 5 years experience in designing, developing and delivering engaging user experiences on customer web sites and portals
* Bachelor's degree in CS or equivalent experience
* Knowledge and experience with analytics and ad serving software such as Google Analytics, Adsense, Google Publisher Tags, Optimizely, etc…
* Must be able to gather requirements, design, code and test independently as well as collaborate with the team
