The Opportunity
Machine learning lies at the core of insitro’s approach to rethinking drug discovery and development. As a member of our machine learning-enabled drug discovery team you will enable and perform experiments to probe and characterize targets structurally and biophysically. You will work closely with engineers and scientists across multiple disciplines to create, organize and analyze large scale datasets covering molecular structure to biological and small molecule binding data. You will be a member of cross-functional teams, comprising machine learning engineers, life scientists, bioengineers, automation engineers and data scientists, bringing machine learning to bear on the challenges of molecular target discovery and drug design. You will demonstrate world-class research skills and experience in developing and using cutting-edge Biophysical (SPR, Biolayer interferometry) methods, as well as strong interpersonal skills, an ability to influence multidisciplinary teams, a strong collaborative work ethic, ability to adapt to changing needs, and the capacity to multitask to meet key goals. Strong communication and presentation skills are essential to success in this position.

Specifically, you will:
- Contribute to the design and execution of Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR)-based experiments to measure affinity of small molecules and protein ligands
- A strong plus would be the ability to design, oversee, and be able to execute, protein expression, purification experiments and characterization
​​- Develop new methods or assays based on minimal information or protocols
- Manage, track, and analyze data sets related to the evaluation of small molecule:target interactions
- Coordinate with external CROs for data collection, data retrieval, and storage
- Knowledge or experience with of structural biology (X-ray crystallography, Cryo-EM) is a strong plus
- Meticulously record results in a timely fashion
- Interpret and present results to a diverse audience of scientists and engineers

About you
- Ph.D. in biochemistry, biophysics, structure or related field strongly preferred, but candidates with Masters with significant experience will be considered
- An outstanding scientific track record in your area of expertise
- 3 years experience in industry
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with people of diverse backgrounds and job functions in a fast-paced, goal-oriented team environment
