National Service Officer
Duties: Manages VA claims for wounded service members as they pursue claims for injuries sustained during activity duty military service. Represent veterans and their families before the VA. Work within the Department of Defense (DoD), Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) and Veterans Health Administration (VHA) leadership to ensure timely and professional care and treatment of warriors. Develop and maintain relationships with related health care and social services providers. Provide representation to veterans/families before the VA. Work within DOD, VBA, and VHA offices to ensure timely and professional care of warriors. Develop and maintain relationships with related health care and social service providers. Remain current with all VA and DOD laws, regulations, and benefits. Plan, organize, and conduct benefit educational seminars for warriors. Maintain and update intranet electronic tracking systems. Develop community support and to speak on behalf. Assist in local grassroots efforts and in collaborative efforts to support programs and campaigns. Develop relationships to foster engagement with warriors and caregivers with programs. Maintain yearly VA laws and regulations certification and complete assigned training courses.
