Network Engineer III

Profile

Assists in the monitoring and maintenance of network communications. Uses knowledge of LAN/WAN systems to help design and install internal and external networks. Tests and evaluates network systems to eliminate problems and make improvements.. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals network goals.
Responsibilities/Duties:
Monitors Cisco Networks. Performs circuit cutover actions to Networks. Assists with new circuit installations to Networks. Performs maintenance on Networks to include routine, preventive, and emergency. Supports planning and execution of Network projects to ensure optimal network performance.
Job Requirements :
Documented experience in Cisco SONET/DWDM, WAN, MAN, and LAN network technology.
Must have recent experience in planning, preparing, implementing, testing, troubleshooting, and documenting the cutover of circuits transitioned to a Cisco SONET/DWDM infrastructure.
Recent experience is defined as two years of experience within the last five years relating directly to the Cisco SONET/DWDM network.
The tasks associated with this effort require CompTIA SEC certification.
Bachelor's Degree with 5-7 years direct or related experience.
Mandatory:
Must have at least two years of maintenance, monitor and upgrade of SONET and Dense Wave Division Multiplexing systems within the last five years
Current Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one
CompTIA Security Certification
