Senior Data Center Solutions Architect

PDS’s newest opportunity, a Senior Solutions Consultant position, is based in Wisconsin, and will lead Data Center Pre-Sales efforts for PDS. This exciting position will involve meeting with customers to understand their business and technical needs, then work to design solutions that add value and new capabilities to support business requirements.
This technical lead should have architect level experience that span small, medium, and large customer environment - must be confident leading “C-level” business discussions with internal and external customers. Since the majority of our solutions business is located in the Madison/Milwaukee area, the position will be based out of one of our Wisconsin offices (Madison, Brookfield, Oconomowoc). This position will focus mainly on PDS’s rapidly expanding Cisco UCS and Data Center needs.
Technologies/Skills/Certifications Required
- At least 5 years of experience with designing, implementing, and supporting Data Center technologies with strong Cisco UCS background. Able to lead Cisco UCS discussions and presentations on:
Cisco B- and C- Series servers (understanding various models of processors, network adapters, memory configuration options, licensing options, Cisco bundle options, etc)
Cisco 6100 and 6200 Fabric Interconnects, UCS VICs, UCS Server and Systems Management, etc
- Able to prepare and read Bill of Materials using NetformX and/or Cisco CCW (most of the BoM creation is performed by a dedicated, inside Pre-Sales team, but understanding of the quote tools is a plus).
- Able to scope/discuss Ethernet, Fiber Channel, and FCoE options
- Cisco Nexus 7K, 5K, 2K, 1K experience, Cisco Catalyst, MDS, and Cisco router familiarity
- VMware 4.x/ 5.x experience, vCenter, vShield, vCloud (Hyper-V familiarity a plus)
- NetApp and EMC Storage platform experience; understand Flexpod, vBlock, and VSPEX architectures
- Cisco and VMware certifications are expected – if you happen to be qualified but lack certifications, obtaining them will part of the job requirements. (VCP, CCNA, CCNP, etc)
- Familiar with HP and IBM Server platforms and how to position comparable Cisco UCS solutions
