As a machine learning ( ML ) engineer in the Voice group -- focusing on Speech and Natural Language Processing (NLP) technologies -- you w ill join a team of researchers and engineers powering a voice platform used by millions of people every day. We use advanced ML to build a conversational voice assistant that transcribes the user’s utterance and understands the ir intent, whether they are looking for the latest movies or trying to access their bill. Your focus will be on building scalable, real-time data pipelines and feedback loops that help us train, tune and evaluate the models serving production traffic.

Core Responsibilities :


Follow s the latest trends in academia and the technology industry and continuously seek ways to improve internal NLP platforms.
Implements, refines and validates machine learning algorithms for products and applications.
Takes action on existing specifications of designs and develops data pipelines consisting of data ingest, data validation, data cleaning and data monitoring.
Trains machine learning models, validates the accuracy of the machine learning models once trained and deploys validated machine learning models into production.
Collaborates with teams outside of immediate work group. Represents the work team in providing solutions to technical issues associated with assigned projects.
Design s and implement s data selection and annotation pipelines and methods like active learning t o maximize improvement of ML model accuracy as well as minimize machine bias .
Provides guidance and leadership to more junior engineers.

The ideal candidate :
F amiliar with production NLP software systems that leverage common ML libraries such as NLTK, pandas, Tensorflow , etc .
H ands-on experience designing and implementing scalable data pipelines, either in an offline/batch nature or an onli ne/streaming nature, using technologies such as PySpark , Databricks, A mazon EMR, SQS, etc.
Cares about high-quality software, agile development practices and r obust platforms.
Has the skills to develop automation into training and evaluation pipelines for continuous delivery and integration (CI/CD) .
O pen to learn ing new skills and are flexible about filling different roles to support high-priority initiatives .
