Security Engineer - Sr. Principle Firewall Change Analyst

Reporting the Security Engineering Lead under the Security Operations & Engineering group, this role would be responsible for reviewing and approving firewall change requests, following our defined security zone standards. In addition to reviewing and approving requested changes, this role is responsible for monitoring all firewall rule changes that are made in the environment and investigating any unauthorized changes that may be detected. As a part of this role, the use and administration of our RedSeal system would be included. Along with tracking and reporting of work performed with measurable metrics.
Requirements:
 
Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Ability to pass enhanced background check
The ideal candidate is expected to have:
8 years of experience in Information Security
A BS in Computer Science or related field, or relevant work experience
CISSP or CISA
Executive level written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate and explain technical security issues into business language and business risk statements.
Functional knowledge of all CISSP security domains.
Expert knowledge in one CISSP security domain.
Knowledgeable in ISMS governance models (ISO 27001), information security roles and responsibilities, controls and risk analysis.
Demonstrated experience with security controls definition, development, implementation and assessment.
Demonstrated experience leading general security risk assessments at the business unit or department level
Necessary skills:
Experience with Security Risk Management and Governance
Experience with managing Security for critical infrastructure
In depth knowledge of cryptographic practices
Extensive Firewall experience and expert level knowledge of IP protocol communications
Strong understanding of OS and application platforms (Linux, Windows, Oracle, SQL, etc.)
Capability to provide guidance for and tracking of large-scale remediation activities comprehensive of solutioning (as necessary), remediation prioritization, Risk acceptance analysis, and communications.
Able to successfully interact and communicate with a diverse set of people from Business Unit executive sponsors to technical engineers and administrators.
In addition to the required skills and qualifications listed above, the following skills will provide differentiation between equivalent applicants: certifications in firewall technologies from Cisco, Juniper, etc. and experience with RedSeal
Demonstrated capacity to influence management and executives as to the value of a robust information security program and its component parts.
