Senior QA Engineer - Performance - Full time - Up to $100k
THIS IS 100% WEB BASED TESTING
PERSON MUST BE STRONG WITH PERFORMANCE, REGRESSION AND LOAD TESTING. THEY WILL WRITE TEST PLANS AND TEST CASES.
THIS IS MOSTLY BLACK BOX TESTING WITH A LITTLE WHITE BOX,
THEY WILL HAVE TO WRITE TEST SCRIPS. THEY ARE OPEN TO DIFFERENT SCRIPTING LANGUAGES.
THIS PERSON WILL HELP SET UP THE TOOLS.
THEY MUST BE ABLE TO TALK TO DEVELOPERS AND OTHER USERS IN THE COMPANY.
The successful candidate has worked in a QA department for at least 5 years, and has been directly involved in performance testing for some of that time.
He / She has experience setting up and configuring a variety of hardware and software in a Linux environment for use in performance testing.
Ideally, he/she has worked with both open source and off-the-shelf performance testing products, and has built performance test systems from the ground up.
He/she can effectively troubleshoot complex networking and runtime issues in a LAMP environment.
Performance testing is highly visible and critical for our fast growing SaaS offering and therefore it is important that he/she is comfortable dealing with senior management internally, as well as customers and sales people externally.
Key Responsibilities
· Building and maintaining performance test scripts and environments, targeting both processing server and web interfaces.
· Overall management of the performance environment, including hardware and software installation and configuration and maintenance.
· Running performance tests and analyzing results.
· Report defects that arise from performance issues to development, QA and technical operations.
· Lead/ assist in troubleshooting issues as they arise.
· Reports and documents performance results in a meaningful way to a technical as well a larger management audience
Skills & Experience
Required Qualifications and Skills
· 5 years' experience in a formal software QA environment
· 2 years' experience performance testing against both server and web-based interfaces, for scalability and load.
· Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and ability to communicate complex issues to a variety of stakeholders.
· B.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent education
