Counsel and Compliance Manager
The candidate will support overall risk management activities, including identifying and liaising with individuals designated as subject matter experts in specific areas of risk. Monitor risk management trends in higher education, researching relevant law and serving in an advisory capacity on matters of risk exposure. Administer Clery Act compliance and other safety-related reporting requirements. Serve as Deputy Title IX Coordinator provide support to the Title IX Coordinator. Serve as Deputy Title IX Coordinator and provide community education and training on policies and procedures, supporting the work of the Title IX Coordinator. Conduct investigations involving students, faculty, staff, affiliates, and non-affiliates; gather evidence, compile documentation, and prepare reports related to investigations. Develop investigation plans for complaints in accordance with policies and recognized standards in the area of compliance and employment, assisting on matters of dispute resolution and litigation management. Conducts research on policy and procedure issues and legal developments related to Title IX, gender equity, sexual violence, sexual harassment, and other applicable compliance areas. Develop Section 504 plans and ensure implementation of procedures, working with the Office of Human Resources and the Office of Student to facilitate evaluations and eligibility determinations. Oversee prevention efforts to avoid Section 504 and ADA violations from occurring. Assist with the development and deployment of compliance trainings. Review contracts to mitigate risk and provide advice on a full range of legal issues. Performs other duties as assigned.
