Meet Summit Ridge Church:
Summit Ridge Church is an evangelical Bible church that was started in September of 2000. At that time over 85 couples and individuals were committed to invest monthly to Mission to America (now known as Missions Door) so that Paul and Jean Biggers could move to Las Vegas to launch a new church.
In November of 2007 SRC sent Paul Biggers into a new role as coaches to church planters where they moved to Colorado. At that time SRC called John Caprine as the new senior pastor. Over the years we’ve seen the ministry grow in multiple ways from people, staff and discipleship.
From the very beginning, we chose to align ourselves with the Venture Church Network.
At Summit Ridge we aim to keep things simple in order to focus on what’s most important – making much of Jesus by making disciples who make disciples. So we encourage everyone who is a part of Summit to engage in the following three areas:
Church
Small Groups
Ministry/Missions
That’s it, plain and simple.
About the Associate Pastor:
The Associate Pastor’s primary role is to give critical thought and experience to the structures of small groups ministry, family ministry, and children’s ministry through intentionally selecting, encouraging, training small group leaders, and children’s ministry leaders so that they through discipleship will go and make disciples that make disciples.
The Associate Pastor's Responsibilities Include:
Leadership & Administration
Give input into the organization and running of the small group, family, and children’s ministry at SRC.
Organize and structure (with leaders) the small group and children’s ministry
Delegate specific responsibilities to other team members
Giving regular input into the direction of the ministries
Give oversight to the Children’s and Small Group ministries budget areas, curriculum, scheduling, promotion, and recruitment
Team player in social media campaign
Discipleship
Must equip those under your care for works of ministry
Must draw people to the ministries
Encourage integration into the whole of the church.
Shepherd the team(s) toward Christ. Encourage and love them forward in truth and grace
Help your team(s) feel connected into the life of Summit Ridge Church
Engage in an adult small group
Preach/Teach (Monthly average)
Able to provide biblical counseling as needed
Engage in prayer throughout your ministry
What You Bring:
The following describes many of the characteristics of the ideal candidate for the Associate Pastor:
Education & Experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience on a team within a medium-to-large church context that reveals skills necessary for this role.
An applicable educational background. (Bible degree preferred)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to supervise ministry leads and volunteers and to understand, motivate, and support ministry leaders.
Personal initiative and diligence that produces follow-through in tasks.
Understand group dynamics and ensure effective consensus building and decision-making.
Strong interpersonal skills—ability to communicate persuasively and compassionately, both orally and in writing.
Promotes a positive attitude and working environment, desires to have fun, and is flexible.

What it's Like to Live in Las Vegas, NV:
We live in the suburbs of Las Vegas. The weather is mild to pleasant 9 months of the year. Many find that the hotter months are not as unbearable as originally thought because the humidity is so low. There are plenty of outdoor activities and things to do here, and it is a short driving distance to California, Arizona, or Utah. There are also many places to eat out and shop. Las Vegas has many draws far beyond the Strip that make us attractive and inviting for all.
