EQUIPMENT TECH (SV INFIRMARY), STERILE PROCESSING, FULL TIME, DAYS','Full-time','Clinical Support','DAYS','DAYS','80','80','Occasional','Occasional','ARKANSAS-LITTLE ROCK-ST VINCENT INFIRMARY','','!*!JOB SUMMARY: In accordance with our mission and core values and under the supervision of the Sterile Processing Coordinator, the Equipment Technician will perform all retrieval, cleaning, stocking, and assembling of equipment used in the Sterile Processing Department. The equipment technician will assemble and distribute emergency kits throughout the hospital.The Equipment Tech will perform maintenance on equipment as needed and as he is able and assist the Supervisor in any quality control and infection control activities.  The Equipment Technician will provide non-technical support for the Special Procedures area to include patient transport.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
 
1. STOCKING


Backup for the Coordinator in the area of inventory control and ordering of supplies.

Receive supplies and stock shelves in such a way as to keep the sterile processing department running smoothly.

Check stock, order medications, and retrieve them in a timely manner as needed.
 




 
2. MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR

Perform routine maintenance on pasteurization and sterilization of equipment.
 
 
3. QUALITY CONTROL


Perform cultures and maintains appropriate records for the department disinfection processes.

 

4. CLEAN, STERILIZE, ASSEMBLE, AND DISTRIBUTE EQUIPMENT

Clean, disinfect, and restock equipment for the labor and delivery trays.

Clean, disinfect, assemble, and restock emergency supplies for emergency kits.

Retrieve, dissemble, clean, reassemble, and stock all equipment for therapeutics and long term care.

 
 
 

 

7,  NON-TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE

Transports patients for the Special Procedures area

Other duties as asked by Sterile Processing Staff.

 
 
 
 ','!*!MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
 
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.   
 
Experience: Prior experience cleaning equipment or working in infection control areas as an equipment technician.
 
Physical Requirements: Must be in good physical condition, able to lift, transport, and move heavy objects.
 
Skills: Must be able to read and comprehend moderately complex material relating to the operation, maintenance, and repair of the department's equipment. Must possess a thorough knowledge of respiratory supplies, instruments and equipment.','We’re an equal opportunity employer.
