Director of Entertainment and Media Law Program Assistant/Associate Clinical Professor
Duties: Will provide strategic leadership to Loyola’s nationally ranked Entertainment and Media, and Intellectual Property Programs. Teach 2-3 courses including Entertainment Law and the Entertainment Law Practicum, or other courses agreed upon by the professor and the Dean for Faculty. Collaborate with faculty who teach courses in entertainment law, media and technology law, and other IP-related subjects to ensure our offerings continue to reflect the knowledge and training graduates need to be effective leaders in practice; Assist Dean for Faculty in recruiting and mentoring experienced lawyers to teach additional courses as adjunct faculty. Represent within the entertainment industry, in its traditional and newer expressions, including streaming platforms, social media, and video gaming; Partner with marketing and development teams to plan communications to the broader community, both domestically and internationally, promoting the Program, its students and graduates; Assist in planning events, including symposia, conferences, and speaker presentations, to maintain and strategically increase strong ties with the industry; Engage and act as a resource to the members of the Alumni Network; Continue to build partnerships across the university with other schools and programs, like the nationally-ranked School, the School of Business, and Social Justice Law Clinic. Engage and advise students (both current and prospective) regarding opportunities available through the Program, including directing the Fellows Program; Assist students seeking significant experiences in law school to prepare for practice; Assist Dean of Experiential Learning in coordinating Loyola’s participation in non-curricular opportunities for students, including moot court, writing competitions, and participation with local bar associations; Serve as faculty advisor for the Entertainment & Media Law Concentration.
