The candidate will be responsible for providing legal advice and counsel for **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***., principally, health sciences colleges and schools. Areas of practice include: employment law, student affairs, transactional work, litigation, government regulatory compliance, health care, general non-profit corporation law and tax matters. Work in a complex educational and health care environment with multiple clients and assignments is essential. Responsible for providing legal advice and counsel to clients within **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. including its College of Nursing and Health Professions, School of Public Health and College of Medicine. Providing advice and counsel to administrators, faculty and staff in order to prevent and minimize legal liabilities and litigation, particularly in employment and student affairs matters; Preparing, reviewing and negotiating contracts and other related transactional work. Educating and advising clients regarding government regulatory compliance issues, including in healthcare and research areas; Preparing and presenting training materials on legal issues for administrators, faculty and staff; Managing litigation and supervising outside counsel representing the institution in litigation or other transactional matters, including assisting with responses to complaints and discovery and coordinating such activities with outside counsel; Assisting with the development, communication, interpretation, and revision of institutional policies and procedures; Representing the institution in court or government agency proceedings; Reporting to the General Counsel, Deputy General Counsel and administrators regarding the status of legal matters for the institution; Participating on institutional committees as assigned; and Other duties as assigned.
