DUTIES: Manages an investigations unit within the Office of Ethics & Compliance that is responsible for conducting a wide variety of complex investigations into matters arising on the campuses. Reporting to the Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer and Locally Designated Official for the Whistleblower and Whistleblower Protection Policy (CECO/LDO), the Director manages all investigations unit staff and oversees all investigations charged under the Whistleblower Policy and Whistleblower Protection Policy for UC San Diego. Ensuring investigations are conducted and completed in compliance with University policies and expectations. Serves as the investigations subject matter expert and conducts investigations into the most complex allegations that arise under the above policies and procedures. Implementing the University’s program and procedures for reviewing whistleblower retaliation complaints.
