Real Estate Paralegal (NJ)
The candidate will become a part of our team! Will provide overall support to attorneys' business needs. Responsibilities: Work with senior real estate attorney in office on a daily basis to provide service on clearing tasks within 500+ pending real estate files; Regularly review title reports/commitments on sales and purchases to ensure title conditions are cleared well in advance of closing; Schedule and Calendar closing dates after coordinating with clients, lenders, opposing counsel, and title companies; Prepare deed/conveyance documents for all sale transactions and ensure they are approved by the title companies. Thereafter, schedule clients to come in and execute the documents in preparation of closing; Obtain mortgage and judgment payoffs as necessary to clear title conditions; Prepare courier service (FedEx, UPS, etc.) packages to ensure legal documents are sent in a prompt manner in time for closings; Oversee support staff in real estate department to ensure tasks are completed on time to ensure there are no delays with Closing; and should be able to work additional hours as necessary to ensure project deadlines are met without any delays. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment (firm handles 800-100 real estate transactions a year). Must be able to work on multiple real estate files at a time and determine which files to provide priority. Should have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must have strong knowledge of the NJ real estate closing procedures.
