What will I be doing?

As the Director of Platform Architecture, you will lead a team of website architects responsible for defining technical architecture and strategies that deliver reliable, high-performing, and scalable solutions to meet the needs of our enterprise and customers. You will need a solid grasp of business goals in the digital content space and be able to translate what architects are working on to those related objectives. Working within an Agile framework, you will collaborate with solution architects, developers, product leads, and other internal and external teams to implement and evolve solutions that enable Hilton to maintain its position as a leader in Hospitality.

More specifically, you will:


Lead the web platform technology architecture team, with a focus on performance, availability, reliability, quality, and delivery
Work with architects, developers, and other engineering teams to ensure the technical architecture, strategies, and solutions align with business objectives and vision
Work with various internal teams to integrate solutions, scope, cost, and timeline to understand implications on architecture
Lead technology research & documentation, delivering reference architectures, and facilitate architecture decisions
Build a team of committed technical architects through the hiring, onboarding, training, mentoring, and career development process
Recruit new talent through outreach opportunities
Establish a distinctive software engineering culture which will be essential to put our company top of mind in the development communities

To fulfill this role optimally, you should demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:


Ten (10) years of professional work experience in Technology or a related field
Six (6) years of Management/Supervisory experience
Demonstrated ability with JavaScript-based web application architecture patterns
Demonstrated ability with Agile Methodology
Technical familiarity with JavaScript, TypeScript, React, GraphQL, Node.js, Atlassian Stack, Gitlab, Nextjs, Monorepo, and Tailwind
Travel up to 10%, as needed


It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:


Bachelor’s Degree, or Associate’s Degree plus 6 years of Technology related experience, or High School Degree/GED plus 12 years of Technology related experience
Twelve (12) years of professional work experience in Technology or a related field
Ten (10) years of specialized experience in software development for web or mobile applications
Eight (8) years of Management/Supervisory experience
Experience with large e-commerce and digital delivery
Working knowledge and experience with AWS web-related technologies
