Vice President, Assistant General Counsel - Intellectual Property
Duties: Develop intellectual property strategy, policies, and procedures. Handle patent and trademark preparation and prosecution. Review, interpret, and analyze agreements, advising clients and partners on rights and responsibilities related to those agreements, including in light of JPMorgan Chase policies and regulatory guidance. Advise and partner with the Technology Department’s IP Strategy team. Manage patent and trademark enforcement matters, including opposition and cancellation proceedings, demand letters, UDRP proceedings, and online take-downs; advise on all patent litigation matters, in partnership with Litigation colleagues. Assist with trademark clearance, registration, and prosecution. Assist with clearance of third-party intellectual property and copyright matters. Perform IP due diligence in connection with potential investments, acquisitions, and divestitures. Perform legal research and prepare legal guidance documents. Provide intellectual property legal advice and counsel to internal clients and partners.
