UI Engineer

Does presenting complex information to users in an elegant, usable way excite you? Do you love to rapidly prototype and iterate UI implementations? Is putting the user experience on a large, sophisticated software stack a problem you would enjoy solving? Are you part designer and part engineer?
If you answered yes to the above, then we have the perfect job for you. The R&D group at RetailNext is seeking an engineer to help prototype and develop the interface and user experience for new technologies. You’ll be expected to take product and technology ideas and turn them into user interfaces, integrating with existing software in the process.
Responsibilities
Be a UI and UX developer and designer all rolled into one
Quickly prototype and iterate user interfaces for new technologies
Work with the R&D team to understand new technologies from both a user and engineering perspective in order to ensure a seamless end-user experience
Work with the product engineering team to ensure that prototypes conform to coding best-practices, smoothing the path to final production whenever possible
Qualifications
A passion for delivering great user experiences and making products easy to use
Strong proficiency Adobe Flex/ActionScript
Experience with BlazeDS and/or Java a plus
Excellent visual and verbal communication skills
BS in Computer Science, software engineering or equivalent; graphic or industrial design degree or experience a plus
Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, and related applications a plus
