Director of Equity, Community and Inclusion

Duties: Advising students from a variety of diverse backgrounds, with a special focus on advising and addressing the concerns of students from traditionally underrepresented backgrounds (e.g. religious, socioeconomic, racial, gender/sexual identity, and political). Developing programs for faculty, students and staff that promote cultural competency and civil discourse and that explore the intersection of social justice and diversity. Examples include sensitivity and cultural competence trainings, community discussions, academic symposia, affinity group receptions and celebrations, and alumni/a networking events. Partnering with faculty and deans to enhance classroom climate and pedagogy. Partnering with Admissions to enhance the pipeline and recruiting of J.D. and LL.M. applicants from underrepresented backgrounds. Advocating for the interests of individual students and student groups. Regularly assessing and measuring the outcomes of DECI programs and services. Advising and serving on relevant staff and faculty committees.
