Senior Associate General Counsel
Candidate will report to the General Counsel and be responsible for providing legal advice and opinions to various academic and administrative offices. Will engage in a wide-ranging, intellectually challenging, fast-paced and demanding practice. Practice areas will focus on sponsored research, research compliance, technology transfer, intellectual property, corporate transactions, conflict of interest and conflict of commitment, and general contracting and procurement matters, along with other areas as assigned. Conducting legal research on complex issues, working with various units and departments to provide advice and counsel, institutional policy drafting, contract review, creating and conducting training, and/or serving on University committees, working groups, and special projects as assigned by the General Counsel. Frequent interaction with upper level managers and administrators, including associate vice chancellors and vice chancellors, in virtually every functional area of the University, including Business Affairs, University Advancement, Research and Economic Development, Information Technology, and Academic Affairs.
