JR Systems Engineer

Profile

We're a small, but rapidly growing software firm seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to assist in the IT Infrastructure organization. The individual who fills this role will know how to 'get things done' while knowing how to 'do it right'. Their days will be filled with a myriad of tasks from sophisticated server configurations, to fixing jammed copiers & answering MS Excel questions.

Examples of responsibilities include:


Cross Functional Responsibilities
* Assist in continuing development and maintenance of a strategy to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of user and client data across multiple systems
* Create and maintain technical documentation
* Complete research and special projects as assigned
* Ensure highest availability of all provided services
Systems Administration
* Install, deploy, and support Microsoft Windows Active directory domain & WMWare environment*
* Oversee architect and design for future growth
* Manage capacity and availability
* Day to day maintenance such as user account management
* Develop and document processes and procedures for ongoing management of the server environment
* Provide emergency on-call support
* Maintain and update various applications
* Monitor and maintain file and print services
End User Support
* Resolve and track customer issues via phone, email, onsite visits
* Engineer and maintain user desktops and laptops
* Configure and install network printers/faxes
* Support and maintain anti-virus, anti-malware, anti-intrusion solutions
* Write, update, and distribute technical and/or troubleshooting tips
* Monitor, plan, and coordinate the distribution of client/server software and service packs

Technical Skills: (Not requirements)
* Experience: 5 years in all disciplines, Network, Server and Email administration
* Strong knowledge of networking, server and Email technology and concepts
* Managing and configuring Cisco Switches, Routers and Firewalls
* Managing and configuring Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory
* Experience with voice, telephone and VOIP systems
* Experience VMWare, SANS, clustered server environments
