Microsoft Server System Engineer

Profile

- A manufacturing company in the Lansing, MI area is seeking an experienced System Engineer to join a stable and growing team.
- The person in this position will be responsible for designing, installing, and administering servers and server components ( including hardware, software, and communications links).
- The server system engineer will also ensure system availability, assist with implementations, and take an active role developing corporate IS strategies and procedures.
- Responsibilities include security audits, system monitoring, vendor negotiation, and documention/reporting.
- The person in this position will also assist with developing disaster recovery plans and will respond to emergency outages. On-call availability is required.
- Must have experience with design, implementation, testing and troubleshooting of servers and storage systems in a large networked environment.
- Background with security administration, including firewalls and anti-virus is required.
- Must be able to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve problems a to ensure efficient operation for end users and support personnel.
- Must have experience managing email, print, and backup servers.
- Experience with VM Ware is a must.
- 3-5 years of experience in a MS server environment is required.
- Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.
- Bachelors degree is preferred.
- Must be authorized to work in the US.
