Job Summary

The VIPER team is an organization within **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.'s grander Technology Product and Experience organization (TPX) which supports the Product Management, Research & Development, Engineering and Operations for **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.'s Elite Video Experiences in use by **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. and Syndicated Partners. We support both legacy QAM Video Delivery and the Next Generation IP Video Platform infrastructure from Content Acquisition to the Player consuming experiences we control the end-to-end Video delivery platforms. These platforms deliver video for live linear, video on-demand and cloud DVR services consumed by more than 20 million customers both in-home and out of home on stb's, connected tv, mobile and desktop products.

Job Description

Do you look for explanations when things go wrong - and also when they work well? Are you curious about finding useful patterns and insights in data? Do you like to automate and build solutions with code and scripts? Are you willing to roll up your sleeves when there are extensive amounts of data to be acquired, curated, stored and used?

In this software development and data science role with the Rio Capacity Team within the Time Shifted Video Engineering Group you will help build solutions for collecting and curating data and also apply data to provide insights into Rio cDVR (Cloud Based DVR) performance and behavior for future hardware planning and ongoing operations. Rio cDVR is a large-scale system with installations around the world that allows millions of customers to record their favorite TV shows in the cloud, enabling them to watch their recordings from any device, at anytime, and anywhere with an Internet connection.

What You'll Do:


Write scripts (Python, Shell etc.) for extracting and storing data from multiple data sources.
Build software solutions to ensure data continuity and integrity.
Automate tasks via scripting and monitoring of data pipelines
Use data analysis libraries to build visualizations that show system performance and behaviors.
Build machine learning models to create valuable insights for our team.

What You'll Need:


Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
Experience in at least one programming language such as Python, C, C , Java etc.
Familiarity with Software Development practices and Software Development Life Cycle.
Some experience with shell scripting and comfortable with Linux shell commands
Data visualization in Python (e.g. matplotlib, ggplot, etc) and visualization tools such as Grafana, Kibana, Prometheus, Tableau etc.
Familiarity with data science algorithms (Regression, Decision Trees, Clustering, etc.).
Very solid experience using Excel

Salary:

Pay Range: $64,071.69 - $96,107.53
