General Counsel
The candidate will focus on owner contracts, federal contracting, subcontracts, Joint Venture/teaming arrangements, NDAs, insurance/bonding, litigation management and judgement collection, and labor/HR/OSHA regulations with potential for real estate transactions and work in the renewable energy sector. Provide legal support during pursuit and negotiation of construction contracts. Provide guidance on compliance with Boyd Jones policies, governance, entity management, labor & employment, ethics & compliance, compliance with laws including intellectual property, competition, and procurement laws. Provide legal support for potential claims, disputes, and assistance on debt recovery. Monitor legal and contracting trends in the construction industry. Control legal costs in coordination with CFO. Possess strong drafting and negotiation skills with extensive experience in complex negotiations are required. Ability to coordinate claims with insurers or outside counsel when claims or disputes arise that require such coordination, including the document production process are required. Strong knowledge of construction industry are required. Robust commercial/business acumen are required. Proven ability to communicate effectively at all levels of an organization are required. Aptitude to identify and manage risk inherent to projects are required. Effective interpersonal communication skills to interact with clients, subcontractors, and colleagues in a collaborative, rational, and productive fashion are required. Personal aptitude to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and manage competing demands with tact and diplomacy are required. Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school is required, 10+ years experience are required. Experience with both litigation and transactional/contract work are required.
