Manager Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery

Profile

Reporting to the VP for Risk Management, this position provides for the management of support for continuity of IT business systems for the company’s internal clients. This role will be located in our new Shared Services Facility in Lancaster, PA. The principal duties are as follows:


Provide leadership and direction on all aspects of business continuity implementation - shaping, influencing and delivering the overall strategy for business continuity, in line with the organization’s group strategy, policy and standards.
Provide detailed specialist business continuity advice to a range of critical business units.
In collaboration with the Information Technology support team, monitor, assess, and fine-tune the IT business continuity and disaster recovery program, perform network penetration tests, application vulnerability assessment scans and risk audit stress tests and reviews.
Recommend recovery strategies and options, and assisting with the implementation of recovery solutions.
Develop business unit schedules for annual business continuity documentation maintenance and update, exercises, and independent review and validation.
Reporting the business continuity status of business units to senior management.
Providing expertise and support to management and business functional areas, as requested, when a business disruption occurs.



Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or MIS degree.
At least ten years relevant IT experience overall with at least two of those years as a supervisor in the business continuity arena.
Knowledge in the business continuity industry.
Relevant technical accreditation such as Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE).
Excellent communication skills, ability to work in a team environment with a diverse group including internal clients possessing a range of different skills other than IT.
Fully conversant with current business continuity management best practices, strategies, risk assessment and planning techniques to ensure that businesses are recoverable in the event of a disaster.
