What’s the role?

The position has primary responsibility for developing customer relationships and executing renewable energy transactions with renewable energy developers, corporate customers and load serving entities in California and the desert southwest. Successfully completing enablement with those companies, and monetizing value from these transactions for the trade desk.

Accountabilities:


Front line responsibility for sales and marketing of wholesale origination products (including natural gas, renewable products, and power) to specific customers in the West.
The successful candidate will work to target companies, seeking out and consolidating supply relationships accretive to the business and trade desks.
The position has primary responsibility for developing customer relationships with wholesale renewable energy developers, corporate customers and wholesale load serving entities in California and the desert southwest which have a focus on meeting their sustainability goals, completing enablement with those companies, and monetizing value from those relationships for the trade desks.
The selected applicant will need to innovate, creating new opportunities for value creation within the sector, contribute to the delivery of consistent, sustainable Gross Margin and Economic Profit results related originated wholesale business in the West, meeting targets for profitability, volume, and other key metrics
The individual will manage internal coordination and approvals necessary for deal negotiation, execution and implementation and will be responsible for leading cross-functional deal teams in closing commercial transactions.
The individual will be responsible for negotiating, and assisting with the development of, very complicated contracts and commodity structures.
The individual will work across teams (customer channels and trading) and Lines of Business to continually monitor market and sector penetration and must stay abreast of changing market dynamics, inclusive of regulatory changes, to position Shell to take advantage of such changes and increase Gross Margin.


What we need from you


Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or other relevant field of study required. MBA preferred.
Minimum 5 years of direct commercial work experience in the power markets in the Western U.S. is required with a proven history of executing successful transactions with customers in the commercial & industrial, utilities, community choice aggregator and the renewable developer markets.
Renewable energy development experience a plus.
Proven success developing and closing wholesale origination transactions with power generators, IOUs, LDCs, CCA's, Municipals, large industrials.
Knowledge level or better competence with power, gas and environmental product markets and in developing and understanding models for structured renewable originated products.
