Associate General Counsel of Real Estate
Duties: Responsible for legal services for the Land, Buildings and Real Estate department of Dartmouth College. Reports directly to the Director of Real Estate and the Associate General Counsel for Campus Services. General business responsibilities include legal advice, drafting and negotiating leases for commercial and residential properties, legal support for property development, property acquisition and disposition, contracts, and other real estate transactions as needed. May also involve legal assistance on land use issues, zoning, permitting, construction and construction contracting, environmental issues including sustainability and energy, long term land management and oversight of litigation related to the Campus Services division. Involves legal work in close support of and in coordination with the real estate office, its clients and at times with outside legal counsel. Position requires discretion, flexibility, excellent customer service and the ability to understand and manage projects with competing interests in a constantly changing, cutting edge environment.
