The Director
of
Data Governance
capability
is an enterprise program leadership role accountable for organizing and driving the enterprise data governance strategy across people,
process
and technology. This leader partners directly with privacy, security, architecture, data science, analytics, and a broad array of business teams to identify, plan, deliver the technology and processes to protect, secure and manage our growing data assets in a modern, real-time, cloud-based environment. This is a critical role that will work diligently to reduce enterprise data risk, drive privacy compliance with new laws, and unlock the use of data more broadly in a safe and secure way.
In this critical role, the leader will have experience working in large, collaborative, and cross-functional organizations to define and deliver state of the art data governance solutions that enable a broad array of analytics use cases as well as the high demands of machine learning environments. The Director, Data Governance will partner with enterprise data analytics teams, digital and technology teams, the head of privacy and the CISO to lead core workstreams covering real-time data quality, change management, data catalog, metadata, data discovery, purge/archive, encryption, anonymization, and access.
The Director
of
Data Governance will have a demonstrated history of deploying technology platforms and tools, knowledge of real-time systems, familiarity with advanced analytics and machine learning, and the ability to work across business teams and functions to co-create solutions. This leader will be an agent of change with a knack for helping senior leaders think and act on what’s possible.
Role Responsibilities:
Learn and evolve
the scope of data governance working with a wide range of cross functional partners across the organization. Identify the KPIs for the program, outline key workstreams, and drive teams to execution and delivery.
Implement and iterate based on learnings.
Work with critical technology, business, security and legal partners to deliver state of the art data governance solutions for real-time data systems that support advanced data use patterns in cloud-based environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) as well as on-prem systems (Teradata, IBM/Netezza, Cloudera)
Accountable for defining the roadmaps for data governance workstreams, ensuring proper capacity and prioritization across teams, and driving delivery.
Partner with the technology strategy team to deliver early and often while iteratively reinforcing and building upon the longer-term roadmap.
Navigate and connect strategic conversations and deep details.
Develop delivery strategy and timelines, prioritizing, and re-prioritizing if necessary, workstreams using Agile principles.
Partner with teams across **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. to outline the people and processes needed solve data challenges for compliance,
security
and regulatory needs.
Collaborate with the key business capabilities leaders throughout the organization to define
(iterate)
RASCIs for populating and maintaining the data catalog.
Breaking down
ambiguous work into actionable and tangible metrics and execution.
Create, review and present capital funding request in support of business and IT needs.
Min
imum Qualifications:
8 years working cross functionally and collaboratively with multiple technology and business teams to deliver as one team
8 years of demonstrating advanced knowledge and skills in data technologies and delivery of technical solutions
Experience managing budgets and resource allocation
Understanding of software development practices
Bachelor’s degree
Preferred
Qualifications
Knowledge and understanding of external privacy laws and standards (DPA, GDPR, CCPA)
10 years of technical experience data engineering, data architecture, data governance or related fields
Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, computer science, or related STEM field
