Our firm is responsible for a suite of approximately six (unrelated) business applications which were built for clients between the years of 2013-2017 , which require occasional support. Some more than others. Because the applications have strong similarities, knowledge is transferable, and there is abundant work for the right candidate.
Several of these business applications require additional feature development. Some require support and customizations as our clients business rules evolve.
These applications are written using a custom (and minimal) PHP framework. The code is OK, but as is often the nature of programs which are well loved and well used we will be realistic that there are some areas of challenge. The code is maintanable, and logical, and generally well organized. There are some exceptions, although my team has done a good job fixing old problems and improving the product as we go.
Applications are all containerized with Docker, and hosted on Digital Ocean with CI/CD. Proper version control, Scrum workflow, Slack for communication.
Youll join our team to help us flexibly meet deadlines when demand for new additions exceeds our supply of time :) If you are willing to learn how these projects work, you will have secured a steady source of income helping us support.
Our team is respectful, professional, ethical, established, and an equal opportunity employer. We work hard, and do a good job.
You will join our team in a scrum/agile workflow with clear targets and deliverables on weekly sprints, to execute CLEAR and MEASURABLE objectives. A team of 5 developers is available to help get up to speed quickly.
For instance : ** These are representative tasks, not specific**
• Given a dataset and a framework/library, generate HTML/table reports to match provided samples
• Develop dashboard widgets to indicate system performance based on provided conditions
• In an existing module, create new attributes for an entity, which are managed on BREAD/CRUD screens
• Add a new notification on condition X
• Debug a password reset form
• Implement a new PDF generation library to replace an aging component
• Abstract a single form field to an array-type input, and incorporate new results into the display.
Successful candidate will sign an NDA and be provided repository and dockerfiles. We will hire you to perform a trial task. On success, work will naturally proceed to include more numerous and complex tasks and potential exposure to additional projects
