Human Relations Officer

Duties: Reviews, adjudicates, investigates and/or provides oversight for the investigation, adjudication and processing of sexual misconduct, domestic violence, dating violence, stalking, harassment, discrimination and related retaliation matters for all school programs, with a primary focus on the, Language Schools, Schools Abroad, Bread Loaf School of English, Bread Loaf Writers Conference, School of the Environment and MiddCore programs (hereinafter referred to as “the school Schools”) in accordance with school’s Policy Against Sexual Misconduct, Domestic Violence, Dating Violence and Stalking and school’s Anti-Harassment/Discrimination Policy. Coordinates and/or oversees school’s sexual violence prevention and response efforts for all Schools programs. Serves as an alternate for Middlebury’s Human Relations Officer or Judicial Affairs Officer/Case Manager, and conducts investigations, as necessary. Serves as the Title IX Coordinator’s designee for the Schools for the purposes of conducting and/or overseeing investigations and adjudicating complaints of sex discrimination (including complaints of sexual harassment and sexual misconduct) and conducting and/or coordinating training for students, faculty and staff in the areas of harassment, discrimination and sexual violence. Works with the Vice President for Language Schools, Schools Abroad and Graduate Programs, Dean of International Programs, Dean of the Language Schools, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dean of the College, Dean of Students, the Institute’s Chief Academic Officer, Human Resources, Director of Health and Wellness and other program directors and departments to coordinate, develop, and implement anti-harassment, discrimination and sexual violence education programs, policies, procedures and materials for all faculty, staff, and students in all of the Schools.
