Chief of Staff to the SOM Dean
The candidate reports directly to the Dean, School of Medicine ("Dean") and represents the Dean in their absence. Advises the Dean and coordinates with other senior School of Medicine ('SOM') officials on all matters of interest to the Dean including policy, programs, personnel, and priorities. Represents the Dean in discussions with other Deans, Associate Deans and Associate Vice Chancellors, Chairs and the Office of the Provost. Manages confidential and sensitive issues for the Dean and develops solutions to a wide range of issues in all areas of the enterprise involving the Dean. Interacts regularly with Legal, Compliance and Public Affairs and Marketing. Performs a wide range of duties which require tact, sensitivity, independent judgment, diplomacy, organizational skills, flexibility, and discretion.
