Health System 340B Operations Director
Duties: Provides health system guidance on all 340B related matters and implements and maintains needed policy, procedures, and operations to have compliant and successful 340B programs. Ensures all levels of leadership understand 340B impact and logistics of business decisions. Develops and oversees tools, audits, and methods to ensure a compliant and efficient 340B program including purchasing, contract pharmacy, and third party administrator matters to ensure continual compliance with 340B regulations. Oversees all self audits including contract pharmacies and coordinates and ensures remediation of findings. Reports results to applicable institutional stakeholders and committees. Reviews and monitors all points of service where 340B participation occurs to ensure appropriate policy and procedure development and compliance. Responsible for maintaining the HRSA 340B Database for all organizational entities. Administers all financial affairs in collaboration with other institional leaders including but not limited to Director of Pharmacy Business Operations, Director of Pharmacy, and Specialty Pharmacy leadership, and CFO with 340B contract pharmacy program including budgeting, billing, collections, purchases, usage, and revenue. Evaluates proposals and contracts for all 340B related arrangements; drives implementation of new opportunities, participates in Specialty Pharmacy business operations and strategic planning, and educates on appropriate risk points and project financial and analytical outcomes in tandem with Specialty Pharmacy initiatives. Works with senior leaders and institutional stakeholders to promote awareness, education and understanding of all available 340B designations and program principles for strategic and ongoing business decisions. Serves as the primary point of contact for 340B related issues in the health system including providing oversight for all external 340B auditors. Generates and maintains required documentation for all program audits and 340B third party administrator business processes.
