Manager, Patent Portfolio and Patent Agent
The candidate will be responsible for technical analysis, patent prosecution, and patent portfolio management. Will assist internal or external counsel with appeal and interference proceedings. Work hand in hand with engineers, attorneys and business managers in protecting the Company's intellectual property and supporting a strategic application of the patent portfolio. Handle patent/technology analysis and landscaping including delivering information-dense reports on major trends, including recommendations, to management. Responsible for IP portfolio management based on patent analysis including locating and prioritizing valuable intellectual property. Deal with patent prosecution management including reviewing invention disclosures, patent drafts, and patent office actions with inventors and outside counsel. Harvest inventions including understanding lab activities, scheduling and running technical discussions with engineers, and assisting in documenting all IP discovered. Responsible for IP program management-including supervising the payment of filing fees and invention incentives. Perform other duties as assigned. Work independently, demonstrate initiative and interact with a variety of engineering development teams.
