Senior Counsel (procurement)
The candidate will be part of the North America Legal team. Will be a leader in the implementation of firm’s processes to ensure effective negotiation and proper execution of commercial contracts for the Procurement Team. Responsibilities: Partner with members of the Procurement Team to understand their goals and the business opportunities and risks that the Procurement Team has identified in connection with those goals; identify legal risks associated with those goals and apprise the Procurement Team of those risks. Serve as primary point of contact for Procurement Team members focused on brewing materials; SaaS and data subscriptions; third party logistics; and construction. Support the Procurement Team in the negotiation and drafting of contracts and ancillary documents with suppliers to ensure that goals are met while keeping the Asst General Counsel – Legal Ops & Procurement apprised of any outsized risks.Periodically reevaluate existing contract templates and processes to identify opportunities for improved efficiency and risk mitigation. Prepare and deliver training materials to educate colleagues about the use of, and periodic revisions to, contract templates. Must havehave a law degree and a min of five (5) years of experience practicing law in a law firm and/or corporate legal department. Should have supported clients with complex international corporate structures and multiple lines of business. Must have substantial experience drafting SaaS and data subscription agreements (3PL and construction experience a plus).
