Role Summary/Purpose:
This position is responsible for the design, development and implementation of the Information Technology (IT) firewall, data network and integration with voice and video. This role includes capacity planning, monitoring, troubleshooting and disaster backup of local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) data communications. This requires a team player capable of working in a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities
Review existing internetwork design; define requirements and capacity to support growth of LAN/WAN communications.
Perform analysis needed to size network equipment, including setup, configuration, testing and ongoing support of intelligent hubs, routers, terminal servers, sniffers, etc.
Participate in evaluating and recommending network management and diagnostic tools to proactively support and resolve network related issues.
Track and create reports on network reliability and performance metrics to assist in planning for LAN/WAN growth and expansion.
Develop backup and recovery processes for LAN / WAN hardware and software.
Participate in project planning and system implementations involving LAN / WAN communications along with the integration of voice and video.
Good verbal and written communications skills are important for documentation and explanation of the internetwork.
Qualifications/Requirements:
BS degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience (preferred)
7 years of experience with LAN, WAN and Security technologies (highly preferred)
Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert (CCIE), Cisco Certified Design Expert (CCDE) or equivalent experience (preferred)
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) and/or Cisco Certified Security Professional (CCSP) or comparable industry accepted certification or equivalent experience (highly preferred)
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent experience (required)
Proven ability to apply existing and new technologies in innovate and creative ways to meet changing and developing business needs.
Demonstrated expertise in several key technology areas, and a strong foundation all network technology infrastructures and systems within EPICOR (switching, routing, protocols, firewalls, VPN’s, WAN architectures, Load-balancing and DNS, Wireless, Authentication and management systems, VoIP, Video, programming/scripting, etc.)
Analytical and complex problem solving skills; troubleshooting and root cause analysis for system-wide issues, including application issues, network issues and virus mitigation.
Effective verbal and written communication skills; the ability to communicate effectively in all business relationships and various levels of management in a clear and direct manner.
Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork traits; adeptness in working in close cooperation with teammates; ability to build solid working relationships across functional boundaries; the capacity to work through difficult issues in an effective, pragmatic fashion and to negotiate with tact and persuasiveness; ability to foster strong vendor and partner relationships.
